Head on over to Fairway on Saturday and Sunday December 10, 11 from 11am-3pm to find out.

Other municipalities are content with a mere tree lighting ceremony and perhaps a quick visit from Old St. Nick to welcome the Holiday Season. But Stamford’s Santa goes the extra mile – or should I say 22 stories – as he rappels down Landmark Square in conjunction with the city’s Tree lighting ceremony on Sunday December 4th @ 5pm for the Heights and Lights extravaganza with guest rappellers Brian Cashman, Yankees GM, Bill Evans, ABC News and Rick Reichmuth, Fox News. A fireworks display and the Activities for Kids Chorus round out what’s sure to be a great, unusual evening. This is a wonderful tradition, and of course, FREE!
Santa may charge for photos, but MRS. Claus is much more generous, I guess. Come to Ridgeway Center Fridays and Saturdays beginning November 25th – Dec. 18 from 10am-1pm when Old St. Nick’s wife will parcel out goody bags to the kids and complimentary photo ops for all!
Stamford On The Cheap occasionally receives Press Releases from left field – and this one sounds interesting enough to pass along to my readers. Though the content of this film can be construed as controversial, and I can’t vouch for its production quality, I’m letting you know about it. If the subject matter appeals to you, you can make your own decision!
Here’s the Release:

After 2 years of development, 3 years of filming and a year of post-production we are pleased to announce that our feature film Charlie Christ: The Gospel According to Fools is finally wrapping up.
In anticipation of completion we cordially invite you to join us on November 19th at the University of Connecticut for a special event focused on the past, present and future of this film project. We will be featuring the latest trailer and showing exclusive footage that won’t be available anywhere else.
This is a film that has been filmed in 11 cities on 4 continents throughout the world. It has received high praise from major industry professionals. It has very challenging, unique and original artistic approaches to feminism, interfaith relations, politics and LGBTQ issues. It has all this going for it. And yes, it’s a comedy!
We’ll also be discussing our plans for online distribution for the film with focus on open video standards (including WebM adoption and more), creative commons, participatory remix culture and more.
Registration is completely free. We’ll even treat to you to lunch! The entire event will be catered! Space is limited so register today!
Just to Recap:
Where: University of Connecticut Stamford Campus (1 University Place, Stamford, CT)

Synopsis
Italian scientist, Claudio Chiuso, develops an elixir that enables him to see the heavenly realm with the naked eye; they call it ‘Immaculate Perception.’
It isn’t long before the public competes for God’s favor and plunges into World War III in order to seize their own selfish visions of paradise.
Soon, the true face of God shows itself at humanity’s most vulnerable moment. God-Man—as he is known for his human flaws and super villainy—swoops in to reclaim the throne of eden, wreaking havoc on the world as we know it; only pockets of humanity survive.
Luckily our valiant knight, Charlie Kemp, arrives on scene to give one last militia a fighting chance for survival against the hungry, undead souls of God-Man’s zombie army!
Grab a friend and head to a participating Starbucks® store – because November 17-20 from
2-5 p.m., when you buy one holiday drink, you’ll get another one of equal or lesser value for
free. Take your pick of your most-loved holiday beverages, including Peppermint Mocha, new
Skinny Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte.
