<p>The Beat writers and artists of the 1950s presented a counter-culture alternative to post World War II America, and awakened its brash, artistic psyche, setting the stage for the explosive 60s. The writings of Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Georgo Corso and others will be featured in this seminar on the fiction and commentary of the Beat period. Presented by Dr. Michael J. Marotto, UCONN.</p>
