The Ferguson Library will hold two job workshops Wednesday, September 14 at the Main Library and Harry Bennett Branch.

If you are thinking about trying to make part-time employment work for you, don’t miss How to Land the Part-Time Job of your Dreams Wednesday, September 14 at 1 p.m. at the Harry Bennett Branch. Lynn Berger, author of The Savvy Part-Time Professional, talks about how part-time work can be a viable alternative to the 40-hour week, and shares advice for landing a part-time job. Refreshments and book signing.

Then polish up your resume at our Resume Writing Workshop at the Main Library at 2:30 p.m. Learn how to construct a resume that works, including how to sell yourself and customize your resume for a specific position. Christina Crain, Director of Programs at the Southwestern CT Agency on Aging & Independent Living, explains Medicare Open Enrollment counseling Monday, September 19 at 6 p.m. in the Main Library Third Floor Auditorium.

There will be individual counseling sessions at the library on the following dates: Tuesdays, September 6 & 20 from noon to 2 p.m. and Thursdays, September 15 & 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. Main Library Second Floor Study Room. If you have already attended an earlier preview session, feel free to register for one of these counseling sessions.

In these sessions, you will meet with a counselor one-on-one to learn more about Medicare benefits under health care reform, new premiums for 2012, and programs that can lower your RX costs. Registration required for individual sessions. Call 203-351-8227.
